Today we had an exciting trip to the local airport. Nope, not to pick up Barry yet but to welcome home our daughter, Petty Officer 2nd Class Kimberly Martin, after a 6 year enlistment in the

US Navy as a Chinese Linguist! She is still active duty on terminal leave and will obtain veteran status on August 4th! Kimberly is 3rd generation Navy having served after her maternal grandparents during WW II and her parents during the tail-end of the Vietnam Era! Once outside in windy Kenai, this born and raised Alaskan girl complained about being cold. Why? You would be cold too if you spent the last 5 years in Hawaii! I'm sure she will acclimate to the "cold" very quickly! And what great timing! Now she gets to join in the fun with Dan, Suzanne, Kami and Barry before heading back East for college! Hooray!
Read about our little airport on the peninsula!
Find out about the fun little town where Kimberly was born and the 1st place we lived in Alaska!
