We finally made it home at midnite and it was just starting to get dark. Our basset hound, Rascal, was anxious to greet Barry as soon as we opened the door. Our home is an authentic Alaskan home made almost entirely out of Alaskan Spruce both inside and out. It started out as a little trailer until one day, Dan bought an attachment for his chainsaw and now we have this big house! It has been a work in progress for the past 15 years; the typcial Alaskan way to build! Dan has cut each board on his little saw mill from spruce logs that have come from different areas of the peninsula. He has put them up one by one over the years. Barry enjoyed checking out the newly remodeled pantry that consists of 41 slide-outs and drawers. Kami's room is the only room not made out of spruce. She was proud to show off her very pink room that she worked so hard to clean the past few days with Kimberly's military organizational skills leading the way. Upstairs, Barry & Kami check out the pictures of his MA & AK families that were waiting for him in his room! We finally got to bed around 2 AM except for the person working on this blog!!!!
