Happy 4th of July

We had a very fun 4th! We got up early and went to church in Soldotna. Barry enjoyed meeting all our church friends. Afterwards we went walking along the Kenai River boardwalk right there in town. It was Barry's first close-up view of the beautiful Kenai which we will soon see even more up close. Stay tuned! We came home to grab a quick lunch and then headed to Kenai for the annual 4th of July parade. It was Kenai's 50th birthday celebration so it was an extra long parade. Barry was certainly in his element. He helped Kami collect tons of candy that was thrown out and enjoyed getting right out there and meeting parade participants. We all had an absolute blast! Kami told him he has to come to every parade from now on! After the parade we went to a park for more celebrating in Kenai where they had lots of booths and music. Suzanne was so excited because we ran into one of her students from this past year. Barry had ben chatting with her students on the computer and talking on the phone with them on occasion so they knew him well. When Suzanne introduced Barry to Elyse, (pictured in the upper right corner with B), you would have thought she met her favorite moive star! It was delightful! Read more about the city of Kenai!

  1. Barry, I hope you had as much fun at that parade as you did a few years ago at the Holyoke St. Patrick's Parade :-) Parades are fun!
